We in the UK lost our £1 note around twenty years ago and I miss them. Notes are easier to carry than coins and the problem is now worse as we have a shortage of £5 notes. Therefore when spending a £10 you can get up to nine £1 coins in change.

The bottom line is JWs do not give a sh*t about your past or present conduct - as long as there has never been an 'announcement' then you are ok.

as a jw we were always told worldly people were bad always out for what they could get out of you.

No, contrary to what I had been conditioned to think:
I was relieved to find that my 'worldy' girlfriend had not had casual sex with dozens of men during her last 10 years.
Parties were different to dub 'gatherings' as there were no drugs, fighting, damage to property or pairing off in evidence. - This really took some adjusting to!
People generally listened to music for pleasure, not as part of some devil worshipping ritual.
There are lots of bad people out there who can make the world a pretty crap place to live, but there are far more good people just trying to look after their families and make ends meet. But because they don't attend five meetings a week and knock on a couple of doors at the weekend they are wicked!

you could be at the door of the least popular munger in school, but overwhelmed with envy because, hey, at least he was doing something normal.
in 8th grade, at the peak of childhood self-consciousness, i knocked on the door of a super popular, rich, "in" kid from my class and he answered the door.
This had to be the worst part of being a Dub child.
Unfortunatly as I attended a Catholic school my school friends were scattered all over town. Therefore every territory could contain one, field service was like walking through a minefield - I hated it. Fortunatly I never knocked on a fellow pupils door. However one or two spotted me and once I knocked on a teachers door and I had to hide behind my adult partner.
Thankfully my kids have never had to go through this.

Micheal was a baptised publisher at the time. He presented on the first series (1983) of the UK music show "The Tube" which was fronted by Jools Holland and Paula Yates.
He left probably due to the job clashing with his JW life.
Although in the video he comes accross as a complete ar*e he is actually a really nice guy. I think his negative atitude towards the band was just to show any watching JW busybodies that he wasn't part of the 'rock n roll' world.
He is still in the troof, in fact i'm sure he's an elder.
